UrbanPhotoFest Open is open to all photographers worldwide.
Anyone over 18 years of age can enter the competition with the exception of those affiliated with UrbanPhotoFest, their associated partners and employees of any company chosen to sponsor prizes for the competition.
Judges are not permitted to enter into the competition.
Opening and Closing Dates
The competition is open for entries from 1st January 2016. The closing date is 12 noon (British Summer Time), 30th June 2016
The theme of the competition is (re:) Thinking the Street, A wide interpretation of the theme is welcomed.
Images may be captured using digital or film.
All entries must be submitted digitally (scans from film, prints or negatives are acceptable).
No digital files will be returned, but all low-resolution images, apart from the winners, will be deleted after the close of the competition.
Colour and black and white images are eligible.
To enter you must upload your Entry and follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
You may upload up to four images.
Images that have won prizes in other competitions or that have been submitted in other competitions currently underway are elibible.
There is no time or date restriction on when the image was taken.
Files must meet the following specifications:
- sRGB or Adobe98 colour space
- Saved as a JPEG at a setting of 10 (100%) or higher
- Each file must under 2mb
- We recommend you resize to a maximum longest edge of 2000 pixels
- No watermarks/copyright/logos on images
Winning entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file. This file will be used to prove the ownership of the image. Winning entrants who do not fulfil these elibigility criteria will be deemed inelibible and disqualified without the right to appeal.
All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant must be the sole copyright owner of all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries (or their parents/guardians if children under 15 are featured). Further, the entrant must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
First Prize: Fuji Compact System Camera X-T1 with Fujinon XF23mm F1.4R lens* plus three x half hour mentoring sessions during a one year period and a portfolio review.
Second Prize - a place on the prestigious International Urban Photography Summer School at Goldsmiths, University of London, two x half hour mentoring sessions during a one year period and a portfolio review.
Third Prize - a cash prize of £300 and a portfolio review.

The three winning images will be shown on the UrbanPhotoFest website.
A selection of 20 competition photographs including the winning images will be screened at Tate Britain during the Urban Encounters Conference as part of UrbanPhotoFest in October 2016.
* Should Fuji discontinue the camera or lens, camera prizes maybe subject to variability on a comparable basis.
Copyright and Usage Rights
Copyright of the images will remain at all times with the photographer.
Images will be used strictly in connection to the awards and will not be used for any other marketing purposes other than to promote Urban Photo Fest. Images will not be resold or used by any other third party. If there is a request for such, we will forward that request to the photogapher via email.
To promote winners of each categatory, Urban Photo Fest Open is granted the right to display images on social network websites (on our official profiles) including Facebook and Twitter.
Entries will be judged by nominated judges. A panel of experts in urban photography will select winning entries based on technical skill, diversity, originality and attention paid to the theme of the competition.
Judging will take place in July 2016 and prize winners will be informed by the end of August 2016.
The decision of the UrbanPhotoFest Open judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

By accepting the Terms and Conditions of the competition and subsequently submitting your images, you have entered into an agreement with Urban Photo Fest Open.
Once enterred, images can be changed until the closing date. Images cannot be withdrawn unless the organisers are notified of a permissions problem in which case, if the organisers are satisfied that there is evidence sufficient to justify the withdrawal, the images will be withdrawn but no refund will be payable.
If you submit/upload fewer images than originally paid for, you will not be entitled to a refund.
UrbanPhotoFest Open bears no responsibility for loss, damage or injury incurred as a result of participation (and/or) involvement in the competition and awards.
The information given in these Terms & Conditions is correct at the time of writing, but UrbanPhotoFest Open reserves the right to change any of it without prior notice. By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Any breach of these Terms by an entrant will void their entry. If a breach has occurred, but is discovered after the award of a prize, then the organisers may require the return of that prize.
