This page gives information you should read and understand if you are thinking of entering the competition.
What is the opening date?
The competition will open for entries at 12 noon (British Summer Time) 1st June 2017
What is the closing date?
The competition closes at midnight (British Summer Time), 30th September 2017
Who can enter?
UrbanPhotoFest Open is open to all photographers globally.
Anyone over 18 years of age can enter the competition with the exception of those affiliated with Urban Photo Fest, their associated partners and employees of any company chosen to sponsor prizes for the competition.
Is there a limit to the number of photos that I can enter?
Yes, you may enter up to four images.
Do I have to enter all my images into one category?
No, you can enter any of your images into whichever category you believe is correct
How do I enter the competition?
To enter you must register an account with the site by clicking on the 'Enter Competition' box at the top right of the screen, and follow all instructions carefully.
When do I pay the competition fee?
You will be asked to pay the fee when you register.
How can I pay my entry fees?
You will be invited to pay through Stripe during the registration process.
Can I register and then come back and pay later?
Please note that if you don't complete your registration within 48 hours, your account will be deleted. This will allow you to to re-enter the competition using the same email address at a later date should you wish to do so.
Can I enter images that I have entered in other competitions?
Yes, images entered in other competitions are eligible.
Can I enter an image that has been published?
Both published and unpublished work is accepted
Is there a restriction on the time or date when an image was taken?
There is no restriction
Are digital adjustments allowed?
Post processing techniques are allowed, although within reason and taste.
Can I include a watermark (ie. my name or studio) on my entry?
No. All images must be clear of any identifying information so that the photographer’s name is not revealed. The judging process is fully anonymous. Any images that do depict the photographer’s name on the image, or any other watermark/copyright information, will be disqualified.
Do I keep copyright of my images?
Yes, you retain the copyright.
Can people see my entries on the website?
Yes, your entries will be added to the gallery which you can access by clicking on 'Galleries' on the navigation bar at the top of the page. To ensure that judging is fair, all entries are anonymised so your name will not be shown.
How will I know if my image is selected to win a prize?
We will contact winners no later than the end of October 2017. If you have not been contacted by this time, your image has not been selected
