The UrbanPhotoFest Open is a new international urban photography competition seeking to stimulate dialogue through the visual representation of key themes related to the contemporary city. Each year the competition will reflect the themes introduced by UrbanPhotoFest. We anticipate that the conversations initiated throughout the festival will inspire photographers to create compelling images that allow us to visually explore the theme in more depth over a six month period.
Whether amateur, professional or student, you are invited to submit up to 4 images that showcase your visual representation of the theme of the competition. This year the theme is (re:) Thinking the Street.
We will be inviting several practitioners to participate on our blog, asking them to discuss their interpretation of the theme and provide some examples of their work. We hope that this approach will inspire and motivate a deeper engagement with contemporary urban photographic practice.
The competition will open at 12 noon (Greenwich Mean Time), 1st January 2016 and will run for 6 months until midnight (British Summer Time) 3rd July 2016.
